Tapered ends
The conical end allows for a gradual reduction in the diameter of the concrete manhole to a diameter of Ø 600 mm, which corresponds to the standard size of a cast iron cover.
This transition is important to ensure a secure and tight fit of the lid.
The conical shape allows for an even distribution of the weight of the cover and the load above it on the concrete shaft. This increases the structural stability of the entire system, prevents damage to concrete parts, and ensures the longevity of the shaft and cover, especially in areas with high loads, such as roads.
The conical end also facilitates access to the sewer system for regular maintenance and inspection. The Ø 600 mm dimension fits most standard tools and equipment used for inspection and cleaning of the system, allowing easy removal of the cover and access to the interior of the manhole.
